Tots Taxi Corp ("Tots Taxi," "we," "us," or "our") provides before- and after-school transportation for children in the Roseland area of Chicago. This policy explains what information we collect from parents and guardians, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website (totstaxi.net), our parent and driver app (app.totstaxi.net), and our phone and text communications.
Information we collect
- Parent / guardian information: name, phone number, email address, home or pickup address, and payment or childcare-assistance information you choose to give us.
- Child information: name, school, grade, pickup and drop-off locations and times, emergency contacts, authorized pickup people, and any notes you give us (such as allergies or special instructions) so we can transport your child safely.
- Ride records: attendance, pickup and drop-off times, and absences.
- Location information: while a driver is on an active route, our app records the vehicle's location and where pickups and drop-offs happen. We do not track parents' locations.
- Photos: photos of children, drivers, and vehicles may be stored in our app so drivers can identify riders. These are only visible to our staff and drivers.
- Website form information: what you enter when you send an inquiry on our website.
How we use your information
- To plan routes and transport your child safely to and from school, home, and daycare.
- To contact you about your child's rides, including pickup times, delays, schedule changes, absences, and emergencies.
- To answer your inquiries and follow up about available space on our routes.
- To keep attendance and safety records and meet licensing or childcare-assistance program requirements.
- To process payments or childcare-assistance paperwork.
SMS opt-in data is never shared
Tots Taxi Corp does not share, sell, or rent SMS opt-in data, text messaging consent, or mobile phone numbers with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Text messages (SMS)
When you give us your mobile number, you agree to receive text messages from Tots Taxi about your inquiry and your child's transportation, such as pickup and drop-off updates, delays, schedule changes, absence confirmations, and replies to your messages.
- Message frequency varies based on your child's ride schedule.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts. Reply HELP for help, or call us at 773-326-6400.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data, consent, and phone numbers collected for SMS will not be shared with or sold to any third parties. Whether and with whom we share information
Tots Taxi Corp does not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only with the following people and companies:
- With our drivers and staff who need it to transport your child.
- With service providers that run our app, website, email, and text messaging (for example, hosting, email delivery, and phone service providers), only so they can provide those services to us.
- With your child's school or daycare when needed to coordinate pickups and drop-offs.
- With childcare-assistance programs you participate in, as required for payment.
- When required by law, or to protect the safety of a child or others.
Children's privacy
Our services are for children, but information about children is provided to us by their parents or guardians. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children online. If you believe a child has given us information without a parent's permission, contact us and we will delete it.
How we protect your information
Your information is stored in secure, password-protected systems. Only Tots Taxi staff and drivers can sign in, and drivers can see only the children on their routes. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as your child uses our service and afterward as long as needed for safety records, licensing, accounting, or legal requirements.
Your choices
- You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information by calling or emailing us.
- You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP.
- You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in the email or by contacting us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
